Pity I can't include the appropriate mpeg file for that.
Na, no fun without a spaceship (or should that be mothership)
So, after
months of pleading with manufacturers to get 64bit drivers out, some of us
will be camping out sharing the experience with all the others at the
frontier. I'm either too boring or too sensible to jump 1st without good
reason
I spend quite enough time maintaining my PC instead of productively using it
as it is without 64bit OSs lowering that ratio even more! I however do hope
that MS decision to not thunk the drivers from 32bit doesn't backfire. The
only application I use often that might benefit is PSP9. I contend the real
bottleneck is h/d access & is too often overlooked.
The computer has invariably become a part of our daily lives, whether it
be work, communication, or leisure - some to a greater degree than others. I
would venture to state that as far as posters in this newsgroup is
concerned, they are the former. Whenever something new is launched, be it
hard or software, there will always be some who would rush to jump onto the
band wagon to say that they have "done that, read the book, seen the movie,
and bought the T-shirt", while some may be a bit apprehensive about dishing
out hard-earned money just to have a different set of controls on their
desktops; then there are also those who will oppose the use of anything
which may be different to what they have been used to all these years. A few
here have written that XP x64 will not be available as a stand alone
product. If this is the case, then Microsoft must be getting ready to launch
their Longhorn, or even Blackcomb operating system: rumours have it that it
will be "sometime next year". My opinion is that one should give it a good
try, and see whether it would benefit for what ones uses the computer. If I
hadn't been willing to try out anything new, I would still be crawling along
with my Mac Classic today: after all it did do the things for which I use
the computer - at a greatly reduced speed of course. End of sermon.
