Any Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro users out there?

I am considering a new Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro 256 MB card for the
system I am currently building for myself. I am wondering if anyone
here has good/bad comments about the Sapphire cards using the
ATI chipsets?

Also, how is the X800 as a gaming card? Solid?

Any input would be appreciated.

The Sapphire X800 is a solid card. Sapphire manufactures a lot of the ATI
branded cards, so they know what they're doing. You should be pleased with
either an X800 or X850 for gaming; either one will do the job with the most
demanding games (assuming your CPU is current).

I'm using one of these cards for almost a year now and I am very satisfied
so far. I'm with ATI for about 4 years now and see no reason to switch back
to NVidia. The X800 Pro is a rock solid piece and I can still play all major
titles in good quality and speed (in an AMD64 3000+ with 1 GB RAM).
In my opinion ATI makes the better hardware for sure, but you can argue
about their drivers. Now using the 5.6 and everything is fine with new and
even older games. Before switching drivers I allways try to get some input
and opinions from the related newsgroups and forums.
If you are just looking for a decent gaming card you cannot do much wrong.

Just my 2c but I HTH,
Chris

Sapphire's parent company, PC Partner, makes a lot of the cards for ATi.
Consider the cards to be as good as ATi-branded ones.

Solid, though keep in mind the X800XL is faster than the X800Pro, with 16
pipelines instead of 12, but not much more expensive. It all depends on what
prices you find.

I'm seeing the Sapphire X800 Pro 256 MB cards for about $225.
Does that seem like a reasonable price? Or are there X800XL
cards out there for about the same or less?

$225 is a pretty good price for a X800Pro. On Newegg the cheapest X800XL
PCIe goes for $285. The cheapest AGP version goes for $313.
