Any ideas how to fix the default Internet Search behavior in Windows XP?

In Windows XP SP2 I have set the automatic search in Microsoft Internet
Explorer
6 this way. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer | Search | Change preferences
| Change Internet search behavior | Select the default search engine |
Google | OK.

I expect that is the way to Change [the] Internet search behavior. So I
type Greece in the address bar and hit <ENTER>. I arrive at the
search.msn.com search engine.

How do I fix this?

In Internet Explorer click on the Search button on the Toolbar. At the
top of the side window which appears is a New and a Customise button.
Click on the latter and deselect MSN and select another.

Seems to work for me.

Hope this helps.

This issue may have been addressed by removing the animation character in IE
6 Windows XP. I have not had a chance to try this but at least it is an
attempt at a solution to this issue.

OK that is a new one. I'll give that a shot after I get this XP back
online. Thanks.
