antispyware fails to launch/run

my laptop(sony vio) recently got infested by adware. i tried running the
microsoft beta antispyware nut it fails to launh/run with a message that a
critical error has occured and i need to unistall and reinstall, which i did,
but to no avail!

Try downloading a different anti-spyware program. Remove all the spyware, and
then try re-installing MSAS. I would recommend downloading ewido:

Try uninstalling Microsoft AntiSpyware, delete the Microsoft Program Files
folder under c:\, restart the the computer. Reinstall Microsoft AntiSpyware
to a non-default location such as c:\msas. Also restart in safe mode, open
Microsoft AntiSpyware, on the Scan Page, choose Scan Options > Full System
Scan > check all boxes below > click Run Scan Now.

Hi! thanks for your reply and sorry for the typing errors in my post..I have
actually, gone ahead and recovered the complete c drive and d drive...and
have been able to launch microsoft antispyware now...it was not the
recommended procedure but it worked.

thanks for the reply and sorry for the typing errors in the post.I decided to
go ahead and recover the whole hard disk- c & d drive..it worked...but now my
internet explorer has gone slow and i am trying to figure out what to do....
