AntiSpy a Memory Sponge

Hi,

Tried the MS antiSpy effort. Nice interface, set up was
easy and the scan moved pretty quickly.

Earlier in the day I had upgraded to 1 GB of memory on a
box that doesn't run any junk in the background. The
loading of programs slowed down remarkably. Possibly it
learns over time? I hope so, because I removed it for the
inconvenience alone.

I use XPSP2, the Maxthon browser with popup and ad
blocker - this browser is TERRIFIC, by the way - NAV and
Adaware, plus I have the native Windows firewall enabled.
I don't have problems and just to be sure, I check at the
end of every session.

I think this program might be good when it runs a little
faster, and I'm sure someone will ask: What speed does
security run at? My answer would be Security is a matter
of diligence not over indulgence. Hopefully "they" will
get it right over time.

Sorry, "Memory Sponge" is really not accurate. A resident -
real time - Spyware monitor is bound to be a slower beast.
Do we really need a full time monitor on resident programs
or just a monitor of what's coming in through the gate?
Seems like the latter would be more effective and a lot
faster.
