Another problem - Selecting over 178 files crashes WinExplorer

Don Gollahon

This problem is with my desktop PC at work. Whenever I select more than 178
files in Windows Explorer and then right-click on them I get an error and
Explorer has to close and reopen. It says the error is in SHLWAPI.DLL.

Windows XP Pro with latest updates.

And always try to work with few files at a time. do not try to do more that the limit.
Working with a lot of files at the same time like that can affect the performance of the pc as well as put ur files in risk.

Normally what I'm doing is selecting them to zip them. I select, then
right-click, then select winzip. But as soon as I right-click it errors
out.

I zipped these files and sent them home to try. My home computer has the
exact same version of SHLWAPI.DLL (date, size, etc). Selecting all 215
files and right-clicking works fine. So, I don't think the problem is with
that DLL.
