Animation Question - Can the last animation object on a slide ...

....automatically advance the next slide.

I have a diagram. The last object (lowest on the slide) is a flow-arrow
which wipes from its top to its bottom. I would like to advance to the next
slide automatically when the wipe is completed ... no mouse click.

I thought there would be a "advance to next slide" in the "After Animation"
drop-down list of the Effect Options dialog. Or something in the dialog for
Exit animations.

Dear User,

Right Click on the last object and click custom animation...
Under Timing tab click automatically.
Now go to Slide Show on Menu Bar> slide transition ....

There under advance you can click automatically after O secs..

Hope this will do.

Cheers

In the transitions task pane (under slide show menu)
there is an "advance slide automatically after xxx" box
fill in the xxx
Set the slideshow in "Slideshow setup"
to advance automatically with timings.
Some of this is easier in the slide sorter view.
I'm using PPT 2002 so I don't know if this applies to earlier versions.

Hi, Mr. Clements, <g>

There is no animation that triggers a transition. You can use the trick of
putting an extra object on the slide (then dragging it off the edge where it
won't be seen), setting it to animate after the flow-arrow, and then setting
the transition time to 0:00 automatic. The transition will happen after the
extra object.

If the transition is too quick, adjust the time between the extra object and
the flow arrow.

Thanks, Folks. Let me play with this a bit more. If I have problems I will
re-post later. Your help is appreciated.

[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint
that you just created (you can save, but not open)? -

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the specific capability that you are looking for.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions about how
transitions and animation effects should interact with each other in
PowerPoint (without having to resort to VBA or add-ins), don't forget to
send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft by either:

PREFERRED METHOD:

A) If you are using Microsoft's web-based, online newsreader for Office
communities
(http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.p
ublic.powerpoint), check to see whether or not the suggestion has been
submitted before (Show -> Suggestions for Microsoft) and, if so, add your
vote to the suggestion submission. If the suggestion has not been submitted
before, click on the "New" drop-down menu and choose "Suggestion for
Microsoft" from directly within the newsreader web page.

OR, NEXT BEST METHOD:

B) If you are using another newsreader (such as Microsoft Outlook Express),
submit your suggestion using your web browser at the following address:
http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
