i am using frontpage 2000. Have researched books, help systems, etc.
and cannot find out what the icon that looks like a black anchor
means. It appears on the left side of my images in a table cell.
Does anyone know - hope I explained this well euf.

Did you copy and paste the image from another program such as Word or
PowerPoint that was a vector graphic or clipart?

In answer to your question --I took the pictures and downloaded them
to my computer, enhancing them in Photoshop. Then I made them into
jpegs or gifs, but none were Vector.

In FP2003, the anchor icon is the anchor point for a layer - it shows
exactly where in the page a layer is defined (even if the layer is
positioned elsewhere).

To turn the anchor icon off, go to
Tools->Page Options - General tab, and clear the box "Show anchor points
for layers"

I have never seen this in FP2000, and do not have that version available
at the moment.

Zowie, Ron - that makes sense! The anchor showed up, sometimes, but
not others. I have had other layer problems that I discovered
recently, also. I'm kind of a newbie, and can't tell which layer I'm
in, tho have successfully created some pages without any knowledge of
layers. But now I'm into absolute positioning and layers (I guess),
and am having all sorts of fun - not. Thanks so much! (By the way, I
can't find it in ANY menu - to delete - including the one you
suggested.)
