No you don't. They just have to be in the same place. They don't have to
be on the desktop.

I just bought 2 identical Dell desktops with the new i7 processors and Windows 7. I didn't think I would like 7, I loved XP, and HATED Vista, but after a very short time, I really REALLY like 7! The only problem I have encountered (and I see a lot of people on the net have run into the same one, with no working solution) is that a few emails that come in on Windows Live the (email system on 7, as you can't load Outlook Express on 64 bit platforms) can't be deleted.

You get an error message that there is an unknown error, and the email cannot be moved. Nothing you do works. Delete doesn't work, nor does moving it to another folder, etc. Out of pure frustration, I highlighted the offending email, and tried to drag it somewhere else on the page. Of course, I got the universal round circle emblem with the line through it, but after that I could hit "delete" and the email was gone!

I had 3 emails do this, and it worked every time! Now its not getting this error anymore! I checked back online and found others had encountered this with the Vista OS as well. I bet the same solution will work there too. Just a heads-up. Hope it helps.

Solution for "cannot delete emails in Windows 7 Live"

I just bought 2 identical Dell desktops with the new i7 processors and
Windows 7. I didn't think I would like 7, I loved XP, and HATED Vista,
but after a very short time, I really REALLY like 7! The only problem I
have encountered (and I see a lot of people on the net have run into the
same one, with no working solution) is that a few emails that come in on
Windows Live the (email system on 7, as you can't load Outlook Express
on 64 bit platforms) can't be deleted.

You get an error message that there is an unknown error, and the email
cannot be moved. Nothing you do works. Delete doesn't work, nor does
moving it to another folder, etc. Out of pure frustration, I highlighted
the offending email, and tried to drag it somewhere else on the page. Of
course, I got the universal round circle emblem with the line through
it, but after that I could hit "delete" and the email was gone!

I had 3 emails do this, and it worked every time! Now its not getting
this error anymore! I checked back online and found others had
encountered this with the Vista OS as well. I bet the same solution will
work there too. Just a heads-up. Hope it helps.

Hi Gary, I'm new at this and have similar problems to the others. Tell me
please, if Windows Live Mail is better than Windows Mail then why don't
Microsoft have eveyone to use it? What about using Outlook Express instead?
I also have emails that I wish to send at various times that come up as
(HTML) not in my Windows Mail but something else that I don't understand.
There isn't a send button and I can't access my Contacts box when here. Is
this all part of the same problem and will Live Mail combat these issues
also? Would be very greatful for your help here as I don't want to change
what I have and then create further unknown problems for the future.

Solution for "cannot delete emails in Windows 7 Live"
I just bought 2 identical Dell desktops with the new i7 processors and

You get an error message that there is an unknown error, and the email
cannot be moved. Nothing you do works. Delete doesn't work, nor does
moving it to another folder, etc. Out of pure frustration, I highlighted
the offending email, and tried to drag it somewhere else on the page. Of
course, I got the universal round circle emblem with the line through
it, but after that I could hit "delete" and the email was gone!

I had 3 emails do this, and it worked every time! Now its not getting

work there too. Just a heads-up. Hope it helps.

Roadrunner's only been around since 1995.
What email program do you use?
This group is for Windows Mail, which comes with Vista, not Windows 7.

I use Roadrunner, and have zero problems.

I have had Roadrunner for the past twenty years and never had a problem.
Now I cant even log on to my Email with Windows 7.
Windows 7 is terrible. XP was my old computer program. Why are you making
things harder for us.

I've had MS Windows for over a month, and now the same thing is happening

I cannot delete messages from my outbox.
When I want delete two emails from my outbox, Windows Mail tells me:
An unknown error has occurred!
it is only two previously email messages that I tried to send.
Now, I cannot delete these emails,
I tried to Right click it and mark it as read and then try to delete, it
does not work either.
It prevents me to send any email, the messages that I want to send are
blocked in my outbox.
It is the first time that I encountered this problem
Are others having the same problem ?

Can anyone figure this one out !
Thank You

This is a known issue with Windows Mail. See if this below will help

Drag all the ones that will move into the Drafts folder. At least one
message will probably refuse to move. If you can't delete that one,
go here for the fix:

Soon? I doubt it.

Hi Gary, I'm new at this and have similar problems to the others.
Hi Gary, I'm new at this and have similar problems to the others. Tell me
please, if Windows Live Mail is better than Windows Mail then why don't
Microsoft have eveyone to use it? What about using Outlook Express
instead?
I also have emails that I wish to send at various times that come up as
(HTML) not in my Windows Mail but something else that I don't understand.
There isn't a send button and I can't access my Contacts box when here.
Is
this all part of the same problem and will Live Mail combat these issues
also? Would be very greatful for your help here as I don't want to change
what I have and then create further unknown problems for the future.

The KB941090 update will just fix the problem for now. You must stop

Microsoft Update in the "Second" section to fix the stuck message

Solution for "cannot delete emails in Windows 7 Live"
I just bought 2 identical Dell desktops with the new i7 processors and
Windows 7. I didn't think I would like 7, I loved XP, and HATED Vista, but
after a very short time, I really REALLY like 7! The only problem I have
encountered (and I see a lot of people on the net have run into the same
one, with no working solution) is that a few emails that come in on
Windows Live the (email system on 7, as you can't load Outlook Express on
64 bit platforms) can't be deleted.

You get an error message that there is an unknown error, and the email
cannot be moved. Nothing you do works. Delete doesn't work, nor does
moving it to another folder, etc. Out of pure frustration, I highlighted
the offending email, and tried to drag it somewhere else on the page. Of
course, I got the universal round circle emblem with the line through it,
but after that I could hit "delete" and the email was gone!

I had 3 emails do this, and it worked every time! Now its not getting this
error anymore! I checked back online and found others had encountered this
with the Vista OS as well. I bet the same solution will work there too.
Just a heads-up. Hope it helps.

1. Mark the message as "unread".
2. Drag the message to the "Deleted items" folder.

If you really mean "Outlook" you are in the wrong forum. This forum
(newsgroup, actually) is for the Windows Mail program.
You are more likely to find Outlook experts here:
