Try windows xp repair , Put your windows xp home - pro -
cd in , Restart , And go through the repair procedure.

The problem is that you have a corrupted file system
To try and remedy the problem boot from your Windows XP cd and enter recovery console by hittting R when prompted
Once you get to a C:\ prompt type in the following
chkdsk /
hit enter

Let it do its thing. IT either going to fix your issue or come up with an unrecoverable error
