An Advent Wierdo?

Hello Paul,

I'm not sure if you read this before. For several years I have an Advent
computer that keeps blinking almost intermittently. This happens
almost all of the time while the computer is running. Sometimes it is a
bit slower than another but it goes on, hour after hour.

The above happens even when the internet is made unavailable.

Could it be that some hidden program/s in the computer is/are creating
other program/s.

My knowledge cannot bring me anywhere near the above situation.

Many thanks.

Do you mean the hard drive light flickers on, about once a second?

They tell me, that means the computer is checking for media
in the CD tray. I don't know if I believe that or not.

Thanks Rob and Paul.

I'll disconnect the CD tray to check if it is the problem.
Will let you know.
Thanks :)

I did disconnect the CD Tray and found the blinking continuing. I sent
an email to Advent a few weeks ago and had no response. They obviously
know little.

Don't give up.

Have a close look at all your storage devices.
Do you have a USB card reader ? Any other tricky items ?

Hello again Paul,

I disconnected everything from my computer except for the parts
to keep the computer running. It still kept blinking.
I have some computers and printers that could use the cards but I have none.

Too many people succeed in getting unwanted items into my computer and
I had a thought recently to keep them out.
Having a hall in a house might keep unwanted items from the inner room.
How to make a very strong filter for the room.

Nonsense or?

Thanks again.
