AMD K6 setup error on w2k

i am getting hivesys.inf corrupted file error during w2k
installation on my amd k6 cpu based PC. is this a
hardware related problem? thks

Is your CD scratched or dirty? Does the CDROM need cleaning?

Running on a K6 CPU shouldn't make a difference

actually w2k was running ok for sometime till i got the
blue screen on startup. so i tried to re-install w2k and
everytime i got the error on hivesys.inf error "corrupted
file". cd is ok and works fine on other machine running
on pentium based cpu. installed winme first and it's ok.

It seems like bad RAM module or overheated CPU.

I had the exact same issue and it was the RAM module taht
went bad. Otherwise AMD has no issues .... All my
machines at home are AMDs .... Including a K6 and Athlons
