alternative to winamp?

is there something besides winamp?
something better?
i have 450 mp3s on a dvd.
this is not even a full dvd.
every time i use winamp to play them it freezes.
it always looks like the playlist is waiting to catch up.
any software out there that can handle a lot of mp3s played from a dvd?

You probably have set Winamp to Read Titles "On Load". Under Winamp (2.x)
Preferences|Options, select "On Display" and the problem should disappear.
