alternate configuration problem

I need your help. We have an office of 15 PCs and we use static IP
addressing. I, on the other hand, use DHCP at home. I have been using the
alternate configuration without any problems. All of the sudden I cannot get
connected at the office. I have run the ipconfig command and I notice that
for whatever reason my nic is getting a DHCP information! We are not running
DHCP! Keep in mind that this is not a wireless card. If I change the
alternate configuration to start using just static ip it works! But when I go
back to the alternate configuration it doesn't work! Is just driving me
crazy. So, my question is how do I get to fix this? or how can I force the
nic to use the IP, DNS and gateway information that I have provided for the
nic? Any help/information would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, I got the answer!
It just happens that there is this user who just decided to bring his own
router to so that he could have his PC and his laptop at the desk an working
at the same time. Well, this router had the DHCP enable and it was the one
creating hell for me. After we went into the router setting we were able to
disable the DHCP settings and now everything is back to normal. I just
thought I would share this with you.
