All my USB inputs have stopped being "Plug and Play"

After a crash where my mouse (Wacom graphics tablet) cordless froze, I found
I could only get a mouse to operate by plugging one into the ps2. Later I
found that ALL my usb ports have stopped working. I've reinstalled windows,
tweaked the bios and checked the drivers. Nothing seems to work. Help
Please!!

It is possible that you fried the usb ports and they will never work
again. However, try to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the ports,
like this:

open device manager, expand the right pane/tree, and look for the usb
controller line (last line ususally). expand that, then highlight each
line under it in turn and press delete. delete all the lines under usb
controller (both controller and root hub lines). then choose menu Action
| scan for hardware changes. XP should find the usb controllers and
reinstall them. Hopefully they'll work again! [you could just reboot and
let the reboot re-find them also]. IF THEY ARE NOT RE_FOUND THEN THEY ARE
DEAD - double check that they are enabled in the BIOS. Also double check
the BIOS "legacy usb" setting and USB Mouse support settings. [safest: no
legacy, no usb mouse].

good luck
