All of my contacts in Outlook disappeared. Everything was fine yesterday.
Have Windows XP. I just manually typed updated contacts 2 days ago. Anyone
have any thoughts?

One. Outlook does not lose data without end user action.
Tell the rest of the story. You provided no information that would permit
troubleshooting.
State more clearly what you did. State the view in which this Contact data
no longer appears.

I had not used Outlook before. I used Outlook Express for email. I manually
typed in updated contacts into Outlook address book. I then began using
Outlook to check email as well. I exported content from Outlook Express to
Outlook and stopped using OE. I had recently changed website host but it was
seemless, and I did not have issues with email. Also, I did use mobile phone
tools for my motorola to synch contacts, but found it useless so I
uninstalled software. As of yesterday, Outook contacts/address book seemed
fine. I did not take any action on the contacts. This morning, I opened
Outlook and all contacts disappeared. Outook mail, calendar, and tasks seem
to be ok.

Wow. That's at least 10 new variables you've introduced into this equation.
Not sure how you were expecting us to just guess all that. We are not mind
readers.
You might want to start by becoming acquainted with the software you are now
using. There are ample Help Files and online sites that permit you to do
that.
It is impossible to solve your initial problem since the information you've
provided is too vague. For starters, you need to understand that there is no
address book in Outlook, nor should you ever use the address book view to
enter or edit Contact information. Outlook uses Contact Folders. That is the
only place you should enter or edit Contact data.
