Aligning a word to the right !

Hello,

In WordPerfect I used to be able to select a word and align it right, even
though on the same line I may have had something aligned left.

In word if I have a word aligned center and a word next to it and I want to
align this second word to the right and I select it and click on align
right, BOTH words are align right, is there a way to do this just like in
WordPerfect, that is to have only the second word align right.

Thanks.

Have you tried setting a right tab for the second word. Set the right tab at
margin. With the cursor in the line you want the tab on select Format | Tabs
| type in the distance for the right margin | Select Right for type of tab |
Click Set and finish by clicking OK.

Thanks I figured it out - I cut the word out and then when to the right,
double click and I pasted the word.

Thanks a lot.

Your method is a shortcut for setting the tab (provided
Click and Type is enabled) as described in the answer to
your posting. If you look in the ruler above the document
you should see a right tab marker at the right margin.
You would do well to learn about formatting a document, as
click and type can fill the page with lots of extra
garbage in many cases. Take a few minutes to work through
the first answer. It will save you hours and hours over
time.
