Alert Window problems

I really like the software but I have problems with the
alert window when it appears.
Because I have my XP task bar VERTICALLY on the right
hand side, the alert windows fly up the screen and
disappear off the top of the screen.
Then 20 seconds later they fly back down off the screen
and disappear. During this time it is impossible to see
what they said or click any buttons on the alert window.

Is this a bug? This happened on my old version of XP and
just fully formated and re-installed a fresh version with
SP2 and still same problem.

Yes--this is a bug--seen with the taskbar on the left or right, but not with
it in the top or bottom positions.

Every once in a while, in a whimsical mood, I've tried suggesting that this
is the developers attempt to create a video-game-like feature for the
application to add interest and make the users day a little more exciting
and less boring.

However, I'm afraid that some of the folks reading would probably believe
me.
