Alcatel Problems

Me again :-/

Finally managed to get XP working now! Just one problem is
my modem.

Im on BT ADSL using an Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem,
normally when i plug the modem in, Windows appears and
updates the drivers etc yet this time it doesnt happen. As
i cant get the internet working on my PC i cant update XP.

Any ideas anyone?

And pray what does happen?
If nothing, have you tried to search for new devcices or even, looked at the
manual, does it gain support from XP for the device?

Ive not had any problems with it before in XP so im not
sure why it should happen now.

It has recognised the device but apparently the "data"
stops it from working. The manual is no help what so ever.

Ive an idea that i download the latest drivers that are
supported by XP, put them on a disk from my laptop and
then put these on the PC. Tell the device to look for
these drivers in a specific place.

If its not one thing, its another.
