After getting rid of a virus this happened to my computer

I got rid of a virus and it dammaged some files on my computer. I don't have
the windows cd because we bought the computer used and it came pre-loaded.
The messege that comes up when we turn on the computor is msnmsgr.exe Entry
point not found. The procedure point SHRegGetValueW could not be located in
the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll. The computer works mostly but not
everything. Internet explorer does not work. But I got on using Firefox. Does
anyone know how to fix this problem without buying a new windows xp.

Hi, looks like that file is msn messenger, try either reinstalling or
prevent it from loading at startup....

If you search on google you can find a website that may have those
files you are missing. I know for sure there is a website that has a
repository of windows system .dll files but can't remember the url.
Usually once you have been compromised by a virus it is a good idea to
do a secure wipe and reinstall the OS. Anti-virus progs are good at
finding a virus but they are not so good at fixing them. I would
invest in your own copy of XP, everyone needs one at some point.
