Advice on upgrading to win2k

looking to upgrade to win2k from win98se, however i am
uncertain about what will happen to my programs.
There is one program that i no longer have the disk for,
if i just upgrade, instead of a fresh install, to 2k will
the program still function properly?

Gary,

Unfortunately there is no way of knowing if the program will work after the
upgrade.
Most programs are not affected if it is a program that is put out by a
reputable software vendor.
Of course our recommendations would be to make sure you have a copy of the
software on disk so you may reinstall if needed.

We always recommend that you backup your critical data on the hard drive
before any upgrade of the operating system.

I would suggest contacting the software vendor for detailed direction.
