Advertising Pop-ups

Microsoft Anti-spyware shows my system to be clean yet I still get
advertising occuring. Symantec on-line dscan shows that my PC is infected
with Spyware Apropos.C.

Spybot S&D or Ad-Aware also do not see this spyware.

I have tried sending a scan to spynet but get the an error message telling
me to check my proxy settings - the meaning of this is beyond my knowledge
level.

I have unistalled and reinstalled MAS without any improvement.

Can anyone help please.

Don't worry about the proxy setting.
