advanced controls for microphone

Hi,

My version of XP does not have the facility
for "microphone boost". On another version of XP there is
an Advanced box in the microphone volume slider box, and
if you click this you can check a box for the microphone
boost.

Can anyone tell me if there is a down load to give me
this facility, or am I just unlucky with my version of XP.

This is a function of your sound card, not xp. If your sound card drivers
support it, then its there. Try updating your sound card drivers.
