Adusting Brightness on Laptop

Everytime I plug in the power cord to the laptop, the screen dims too much
for me to really make out anything. When I unplug it, it brightens. How do I
have it brighten when it's plugged in? I can't find it in any of the help
sections nor on the F keys.

Usually it's an Fn+key combination...
And/or in the system BIOS.

Nothing to do with Windows at all.
