Adobe Reader Plug-In

Kirk

I have experienced the same problem using all versions of
Acrobat / Adobe Reader 5.0 and up. I am able to
open .pdf documents in IE 6.0, however when I close the
window with the pdf, all IE windows immediately close.
The only recourse I have found is setting the Adobe
application to open the files with a separate reader
application, but this is a bit more time consuming.
I'm curious to see if anyone else has experienced this.
I have this problem when using either of my home PC's, as
well as on my office machine.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I have the very same problem. It is occuring on all the
computers I use. I don't have a work around. :(

I am looking for Ideas to fix it. How did you do the work
around?

You can configure the Adobe plug-in to open .pdf files in
a separate application window. To do this, you must
close all Internet Explorer windows, then open the Adobe
reader application.
Go to Edit>Preferences>Internet and un-check "open PDF
files in browser". Re-start IE.
Doing this will allow you to close the viewer without
losing all your web windows, but the process of opening
and viewing pdf's is significantly slower.
I am still looking for a fix to the original problem, so
I can use the IE plug-in as my viewer.
