I've tried everything I can think of but when I invoke
Adobe Reader version 6.0 it just displays the Adobe
banner and hangs. Looking at the task manager, the Adobe
process just spins taking 90%+ of the cpu until I end the
process. I have removed Adobe install, reinstalled
latest version, restarted Windows in VGA mode, changed
all the Adobe start up variables and nothing works. In
all the years I've used Adobe Reader this is the first
time this has happened. The Adobe help site recommends I
reload Windows XP Profesional but I'm somewhat hessitant
to do that.
