Adobe Reader issue

When I close a pdf file and check the task manager, I see that Adobe
Reader continues to hang onto a large segment of memory. Is this normal
and if not, anything I can do?
TIA

Look at the column in 'Task Manger' that indicates the size of virtual
memory in use by Adobe Reader.

You will likely find that the virtual memory used is 80% of the total memory
used by Adobe Reader after you close Adobe Reader. Virtual memory is your
page file, and it does not take up physical memory. After closing Adobe
Reader, it will continue to occupy some physical memory until another
application needs that memory or more cache space is needed in physical
memory. You don't have a problem.

This is a Good Thing, not a bad thing. If you reopen it it will open
faster. If another program needs that memory Windows will give it to that
program.
