Adobe program compatibility issues

I just purchased a new computer with Windows XP and am
having compatibility problems with my Adobe products. I
have created a file in Adobe Pagemaker that I need to
convert to Adobe PDF. When I try the conversion within
Pagemaker, I get an error message that reads, "Adobe®
PageMaker® for Windows application file has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience."

When I try the conversion by first opening Adobe Distiller
5.0 and then saving the Pagemaker file as a PDF, I get the
following error: "%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand:
ÐÏࡱá ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be
ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
Distill Time: 0 seconds (00:00:00)
**** End of Job ****"

I am using Pagemaker 7.0 and Adobe Reader 5.0. I haven't
found anything online that suggests a fix for this, but it
seems similar to errors with other Adobe applications.

Hi:

I've not been using Pagemaker for many years, but you can try to use printer
to print the document as a PDF file.

If you install Acrobat 5.0, you should have Adobe PDF printer listed in your
printers and faxes section.

The easies way for me is to click Print on the application where I am doing
the document, and change printer to Adobe PDF, and select the location and
name of the document, and click print, and the PDF document is done.
