Administrator Random password

I typed " net user administrator /random" to chose a
secure password for my Win XP Pro(As desribed in MS
book "Windows XP InsideOut Deluxe Edition" page 119) .
Windows was suppose to show me the new password but
DIDN'T! Can anyone help with rcovery??? Many Thanks!!

I guess you did this from Start\Run, right? Then the command prompt with the
password showing will just flash by and be gone before you have a chance to see
what it was. You should always open a command prompt yourself first (e.g. with
cmd.exe in Start\Run) and then run the command from there.

You will then get a output like this:

C:\>net user jadda /random
Password for jadda is: PYIaD-w4

The command completed successfully.

If that doesn't work out, you might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:

Thanks but none of these sites are for XP.. It's looking
more like I will have to format the drive????

They will work for XP as well (and Win2k).
