Administrator does not have sufficient security to unsinstall

Philippe

I am logged as Administrator. The error message "You don't
have sufficient privileges to uninstall devices or to
change properties or device drivers." display when I
connect an USB device or open the "Add/remove Hardware"
fonction or when I try to delete some registry keys.
When can i do to retrieve my Admin rights when log as an
Administrator.

This is a good idea, however as i am not an Administrator
that has lost Admin rights, I receive an Access denied
message and it failed to change anything.

Any other idea other than reinstall the machine from
scratch?

Double check that the account you are logging on as is indeed in the local
administrators group [if you can access Computer Management or use "net user
username"] and if you can open Local Security Policy/local policies/user rights
assignments to see if the administrators group is listed in the appropriate settings.
If you have no luck then a reinstall is in order. You can reinstall into existing
\winnt folder that will be detected by the install process without formatting if you
want. Then your data should be preserved, but you will have to reinstall applications
on top of themselves, install service pack and critical updates, and locate your
old/original profile under documents and settings folder if you have any data stored
there. --- Steve

Thanks for your time and your help.
Actually, i have reapplied the secedit command in Safe
Mode and it worked. It did not work with a normal boot.
I don't understand as you need to log as Administrator in
Safe Mode as well.
Any how it solved my problem. Thanks a million.
