Administrator privileges

John

I just had to reload my Windows 2000 operating system and
everything seemed to be good, but the system doesn't
recognize my sound card. When I logon as the
administrator, I get the error message that I don't have
sufficient privileges to install or uninstall devices on
this computer. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
John

Make sure that you are indeed logged on as an administrator which you can verify
for instance by trying to change tcp/ip settings or such and using Computer
Management/local users and groups to check membership of local administrators
group. If that does not work then see the link below on using secedit to reset
security settings back to default defined levels. You may first want to try
appending /areas user_rights to the command. --- Steve
