Admin rights to add hardware.

We are having problems with USB devices needing to add drivers after being
unplugged and plugged back in to the same port. The users do not have right
to add hardware so a administrator has to go to the machine to fix the
problem. Is there a way to change this. Device is a hand held scanner.
Unplug and plug back in the same port and it will want to add drivers.
Please Help.

I would love nothing more then to give 10000 users admin rights on the
machines. I need a way to get around this problem that doesn't change the
rights of the end user. If they have rights like this then they would have
rights to change other hardware configurations. From a support side I would
like to give the user as little as possible. If you have any other ideas I'm
open. Thanks

I'd start with the device manufacturer. Ask them why their device
drivers aren't properly designed for WinXP and when a patch can be expected.
