Hi
My admin account (XP Pro) no longer has access to the Task Manager for one, giving me the message "Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator." I created another administrator account and that one could access Task Manager fine
Also, when I click start on that account, I only have the 'Log Off' option, the 'Shut Down' button is completely gone. I also cannot right click in the Start>Programs (when I installed a new program and wanted it to sort everything by name)
I scanned my system with McAfee and found a keylogger type virus. I promptly removed this and changed all my passwords
Anyway, my question is: Is there a way to make sure there are no remnants of this hack attempt? Is there a way to reenable Task Manager and put the Shut Down button back where it's supposed to be? How about the right click thing in the Start>Programs
Thanks in advance for the help!
