addresses in send to box

when I create a new email I click on the To box for the person I am sending
the message. In this box all of my contacts have several addresses that keep
building up. How do I delete duplicate addresses in this folder.

It is a good idea to disable "automatically add people I reply to, to my
contacts".
Tools>Options>send tab.

If you click in the empty To box (as opposed to clicking on 'To:')
then type a letter or two, it will use the auto-complete list instead of
your contacts. Windows Mail does not auto-complete from your
regular contacts. It uses a separate list of the last 29 recipients you've
sent mail to.

You can delete the entire auto-complete list as follows:

The newer replacement mail program, Windows Live Mail, uses the
standard contacts list for auto-completion.
