it is not just a screen it is the screen a BSOD (blue/black screen of
death)
when you get this your OS has crashed

have you tried booting Safe Mode, Debug, Last good HDWR profile etc (hit F8
durring boot to get these options)

search MS knowledge base for "STOP 1E" and see if any of the problems
apply to your situation
