Adding user in a Group doesn't show Domain

I have a Domain with windows 2000 server. I have some new computer that
come with Win Xp Pro. When I want to add a domain user in local group, it
doesn't give me the domain in the choice. So I can't add domain user. I saw
something similar when I try to share a local folder, it didn't show the
domain. If I do it with a win2k pro it work. And if I do it with my winNT4
Domain with winXP pro client it work too.

What's wrong?

Do you have the correct DNS entry on the XP machine?

And what happens if you just try to type the name instead of browsing for
it?
domain\user
