Adding Spell Check on Access 97

Hi

I use MS Access 97. Everytime I try to use the the spell check option I get
an error that the spell check is not installed. I re-install the program at
least three (typical and custom installation) I still get the error message
everytime I try to use the spell check. Is there any other way I can install
this? Thanks in Advance.

Are you perhaps running Access 97 on a PC that also has a newer version of
Office installed? The SpellChecker component is shared across all Office
apps and the newer version of Office might have replaced the component with
the newer version (which Access 97 can't use).

I'm not sure about that, Rick.

I just tested Access 97 on my machine that's never had any other version of
Word on it than Word 2003, and Spell Check worked fine.

I'm wondering whether Kobe installed Office, or simply Access. I don't
believe that installing only Access installs the Proofing tools.

I didn't mean to imply that a mixed Office scenario would always kill
spell-check in A97, only that it might happen if something was done incorrectly.
I have had mixed versions of Office apps for years but was always careful to
pick different folders and to indicate not to remove older Office components.
I'm just not sure what might happen if you don't follow that procedure.
