Adding NT 4.0 SP6a Workstation to XP home network

What do I do to add an NT 4.0 Workstation to an XP home
network? Basically I want to do some file and printer
sharing. The printer sits on the NT. The NT Workstation
was originally configured for Ethernet access to internet
over ADSL, and internet is now working thru the home
network router.

If I try and run the netsetup.exe generated by the XP home
network wizard to be executed on all systems in network on
the NT Workstation I get the message:
The network configuration guide only supports Windows 98,
ME and XP. Configuration information for other operating
systems can be found in the direct help.

What is the direct help? I for sure can't find any
information on setting up NT Workstation in an XP network.

I believe at one time I have seen a paper in the Knowledge
Base that discusses this subject but I can't find it now.

NetBIOS and WINS are required in a mixed network
NetBIOS and WINS name resolution is required only on mixed-mode (Windows 95,
98, Me, NT, 2000 and XP) networks to provide backward-compatibility older
versions of Windows. If you have a domain mixed-mode network with DHCP and
DNS, you are better to cerate WINS in your system. In workgroup mixed-mode
network, most people enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP to resolve NetBIOS name to
equivalent to IP addresses.

Thanks for reply. After studying the web site I am
realizing that file/printer sharing is implemented using
the NetBEUI protocol not TCPIP and that setting NetBIOS
over TCPIP solves this on the XP machine.

Is it correct that NT doesn't have NetBIOS over TCPIP,
just NetBEUI itself?? In that case does this mean our
router won't support sharing with the NT system? Here is
the data sheet for the router, it doesn't mention NetBEUI
at all http://213.216.192.242/products/di-614plus.pdf

This is the router I recommended my friend to buy, I have
an earlier version of the same router in my own home
network with Windows 2000 and ME. But those systems both
support NetBIOS over TCPIP. Please tell me I didn't
recommend the wrong router.
