Adding an Incoming Connection stops all neworking!!

I am trying to setup a VPN.
We have central printers & Quickbooks running on a Win XP Pro machine - and
XP home clients connect to this OK (in the LAN).
Now one user needs to work remotely; so I configured an 'incoming
connection' on the XP Pro maching following these instructions:
http://www.chicagotech.net/vpnsetup.htm#How to configure Win 2000/XP Pro as VPN host

But the moment I press 'finish' - the LAN clients cannot print on the
central printers or connect to Quickbooks.

Can anyone suggest what's going wrong?

You may have a routing issue. Posting the routing table here may help. Or this troubleshooting may help,

routing issues on vpnResolution: When establishing VPN to the office A, the routing table changes. To fix this issue, disable the "Use default gateway" on the Office A VPN ...

I haven't changed the router (yet).
My first change was to setup the incoming connection on the server
Then I was going to change the router to allow VPN pass-throu
Then I was going to setup the client.

But as soon as I implement the incoming connection on the XP Pro machine, it
seems other LAN clients loose connection to it

I have copied the results of the commands below:
In summary - the IpConfig shows Ip Routing Enabled = No (before adding the
Incoming connection) and Yes (after) {I'm sure I have his the right way
round}
- and Route print shows = same before & after.

Details are below - I'd be grateful if someone could make sense of this for
me - THanks

Before adding the Incoming connection:
IpConfig /all shows:
