When I select SAVE AS in word. It shows me a window with SAVE IN

Highlight the folder and click on Tools-Add to My places. You may need to
make the dialog box larger to see the new folder. If you then right-click on
the folder in "My Places" you van move it up or down in the list.

You can’t.

If using Word 2002 or 2003 you can add/remove places from the "My Places".

In the Save As/Open dialog, navigate to the folder you wish to add to the
left side pane. Then, choose the Tools dropdown and select "Add
to My Places".

To remove, just right-click on one of the "places" and "Remove".

For Word 2000 and earlier you will need the Places.com add-on.

Go here for download and instructions.

2 questions: 1. can you get rid of options on the left side "save in"
options? 2. can you add to IE and other Office products besides Word?
