Add to Right Click Menu

Hi, I am trying to add "WordPad" or "Write.exe" to the "New" right click
menu.
TweakUI won't let me do it.
I downloaded "Shellnew.exe" from Kelly's-Korner XP Tweaks, but not game to
install it until I can get more info.
(WinXP Home SP2)
Can someone point me in the right direction to learn more ?
TIA

What you do is run the program concerned, make a null document as a
'template' and save it, then in TweakUI for XP, Templates page, use
Create and point it at that blank document, *not* at the program. You
need to have the file association for the extension set to launch the
relevant program

Thanks Alex, Got "Write Document.wri" added to right click. however,
1. Folder options are set to "Open with WordPad",
2. Can only "save as" Document.rtf" which opens in Word,
3. Attempts to open .wri docs gets me the message :
"Cannot load Word for Windows 6 Files"
How do I get WordPad documents to open with WordPad and not Word?

Fumbled around some more and got it sorted :)
(I used an old "template" that dated back from 1999 which didn't work)
Opened a new WordPad and followed your advice again which did work.
Thanks again

Go to Control Panel - Folder Options - File Types, and look for WRI
It should have an Advanced button where you can make a new Action, point
it at Write, and then highlight the result and click on Default.

Similarly you can set the action to be used for RTF. Provided you make
new ones as the default , the old will still be available if you right
click a file, on the pop-up menu
