Add to Favorites

In Internet Explorer, I recently noticed three new options when I right-click
in the Name field in "Add to Favorites":
- Right to left Reading Order
- Show Unicode Control Characters
- Insert Unicode Control Characters (which has a drop-down menu)

I've also noticed that these options also appear in Windows Explorer.

I was unable to find any indication in newsgroups of what these options mean
and how they got turned on.

Note: I recently downloaded a Japanese character set.

Does anyone know about these options?

I don't have those options in my IE Favorites. Hmmmm!
If I right click I only have the option to
Paste, or select all.

Note: I get the same options when I right-click in the Address field of both
Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer.

That's so odd. I do have those in the 'view' button on the toolbar, but
right click is not needed, it's just an option under the 'encoding' option.

I don't seem to be able to change the encoding under the "View" pull-down.
It's set at Unicode (UTF-8). I changed it to Western (Windows), but it
reverts back to Unicode if I restart or refresh IE. Options Right-to-Left
Document and Left-to-Right Document also appear in Encoding.

Do you think this might have been caused when I downloaded the Japanese
character set?

Fixed it!

Went into Control Panel->Regional and Language Options.
Under the Languages tab, unchecked Install files for East Asian languages.
