Add/Remove

annonymous

My OS is Win.XPPro(SP2). When I was using the CD Rewriter with a CD
Formatted on another PC (but with the same software) mine started rebooting
and when the fault was reported to Microsoft the diagnosis was that some of
the security protection installed maybe at fault.

I removed through the Add/Remove all the installed protection programmes,
but the fault persisted, so I run Systems Restore and the Ad-Aware SE Plus
was somehow reinstalled.
Now when I want it removed in the Add/Remove I get a notice stating "Could
not open INSTALL.LOG file" and I cannot proceed with the removal.

I cannot remove it neither with the Remove option on the menu of the
programme in Start/Programs.

Will someone please advise me how to remove Ad-Aware SE Plus programme from
my computer? Thank you.

Download the latest update of it. Upgrade your current installation, then
uninstall that

That'll do it

When you did the system Restore, it restored the registry to a point
when Ad-Adware was installed hence it shows up in the Add/Remove. The
Software for the program should not be there.

To remove the program from the Add/Remove list you have to do some
Registry edits.

To do this go to the Start then Run and type

regedit

Navigate to the following key using the '+' to expand the keys:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

then locate the "Ad-Adware SE Plus" and then select "Ad-Adware SE Plus"
and right-click and select Delete.

You have to reinstall Ad-Aware SE Plus first then you have to uninstall it.
