Add/Remove Programs

When I looked at the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel I
found an item - ArcSoft Photoimpressions 6. When I try to remove it the
system does nothing.

I did not install this program and have never used it. I can only guess it
may have been installed as part of some other application. I cannot find any
folders on my computer containing this program. I neither need nor want this
program.

How can I get this item out of my Add/Remove Programs List?

Thank you

Why it won't remove, I can't answer, but ArcSoft Photoimpressions is part of
the Epson software for some of their printers/scanners. I have a CX6000 and
use ArcSoft Photoimpressions to resize documents and pictures I scan to my
PC.

Is there a "Click here for support" link under the name when selected
(highlighted)? If yes, click the link to see if there is a "Repair" option that may
possibly reinstall the missing files to be able to uninstall it. At a guess the
application may have been installed with camera, all-in-one printer, scanner or other
peripherals that use graphics.

If the application was installed and the entry in Add/Remove was left behind, you
can remove the entry from the list in the registry at:
hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\current version\uninstall

Export the key before removing any listed entries so it can be imported back into
the registry in case something should go wrong.
Right click the folder in the right pane and click Export in the popup menu.
Name it and save it to an accessible place where you can find it easily.
