Can you be more specific about what you are trying to do? There is no such
thing as Outlook Express 7.

If you wish to uninstall IE7Beta3 (Internet Explore 7) *do not attempt to
edit the registry*. Instead, try this:

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

1. Click Add or Remove Programs.
2. Scroll down to "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3", click it, and then click
Change/Remove.
3. If you cannot find any version of Internet Explorer 7 in the step
above, select the Show Updates check box at the top of the Add or Remove
Programs dialog box, scroll down to Windows XP - Software Updates, select
"Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3" and then click Change/Remove.

If you cannot find an Internet Explorer 7 entry in "Add or Remove Programs",
try running this command. (You need to have "View hidden folders" enabled).

1. Click the Start, then click Run.
2. In the dialog box enter: C:\Windows\ie7beta3\spuninst\spuninst.exe

Let us know how you get on.

I am sorry. I meant Internet Explorer not OE. When I click on Help, I show
that I am using IE6, but the Add/Remove Programs list shows that I have IE7
Beta 3. How this began: I downloaded the Beta, then downloaded the
fiinished IE7 only to find that this version is not compatible with my HP
products. I have not been successful uninstalling IE7 Beta 3 or at least I
have not been successful removing it as one of the Programs under A/R
Programs. Using your suggestions, I tried once again removing it as shown
in Software Updates. But the popup windows keep showing files that cannot
be found and finally one major file missing so that uninstall stopped. I
appreciate more suggestons.

You say your IE help shows version 6, so don't try to uninstall version 7..
Start the registry editor and open the following key (keys look like folders)
by clicking on the + at the left of them:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
look if you can find a key (folder) there named somehow like "IE7","
IE7beta"..
If you can find it, click on it, (not on the + at the left of it),
in the registry editor menu choose -file -export and export it, so, if the
deleting
causes any trouble, you can restore it by double-clicking on this! Now
delete it.
If you can't find it, try the following:
Mark the key (folder) "Uninstall" by clicking on it (not on the + at the
left of it),
in the registry editor menu choose -edit -search
and enter as search term the name exactly like it is shown in A/R Programs,
if it's found, you can delete the key (folder) in which the term was found,
but not until you exported it like described above.

I seem to be getting there, but now I need to know how to export. I
understand I find export under File, but where do I export this file to(in
case I eventually need it back)? The ie7Beta3 was listed as you thought it
might be. There is no ie6 so I hope that is ok. If I lose the registry
ie7beta3, can I just do a "Restore" ? I am wondering if the last version of
ie6 had some parts of the new beta3 and these parts tagged along when I
reinstall ie6 ...the reason why ie6 shows when I click "Help" but ie7beta3
shows up in the Add/Remove column.
