AdAware & MS AntiSpyware?

How compatible is MS AntiSpyware Beta version and AdAware Pro Se version?
Any issue that I might need to know about?

I'm thinking of adding MS to the rouster of tools, and I'm wondering if the
two programs will eat each other up, conflict with each other, cancel out
aspects of each other,...etc etc etc?

Thanks for all the support a this community.

I'm not familiar with the active protection portions of the pro version of
ad-aware. Running multiple real-time scanners can result minimally in
confusing or extra prompts, and at worst in resource issues or software
conflicts.

That said, I know of no such conflicts, and I'm certain that there are other
users of the pro version of Ad-Aware in this forum.

I would try this out, myself--and see how it goes. Microsoft does recommend
turning off active antispyware scanners during the installation process for
Microsoft Antispyware, but otherwise there aren't conflicts noted in the
info at the web site or in KB articles.

I found that when MSAS is loaded in the system tray, and you try
to scan with Ad-Aware (any version), Ad-Aware takes longer than
usual to scan -- actually slows to a crawl.

Best advice is to close out MSAS before scanning with Ad-Aware,
and then go back into MSAS when you're done.

Yes, I tested Ad-Aware SE with Windows Defender Beta. There were
no slow downs.

Seconded. I'm using both (and don't disable one when the other is
scanning). No problems so far. Windows 2000.
