Ad-Aware SE

I ran Ad-Aware to cleanup spy ware on computer (Laptop running WinXP Pro SE).
I found some items imbedded in the registry and removed them one by one (from
the Ad-Aware program, not the registry directly) and was able to connect to
my home P2P network and the internet. I eventually removed ALL the files in
the Critical Status, each time verifying Internet and Network connectivity.

Woops- now since I have removed (even out of their holding location -
Quarantine) everything, I have lost network and internet connectivity.

I have tried restore points, several (none will restore).
I have run Norton AV and no viruses.
I have checked both my network connections (wireless and wired) and no
hardware conflicts.
My wireless PCMIA card shows 100% signal strength.
I cannot ping my router, 100% loss.
My desktop is working fine, my modem is working fine, my router is working
fine.

Any Ideas would be appreciated.
