ActiveX issue

I am troubleshooting a problem on a computer running XP Pro SP2 from another
person and when I use IE 6 to visit certain sites, I get a message in the
info bar that says my current security settings prevent activex from running
on that computer.

I have gone through the Internet Options, Security settings completely with
no luck. I have researched articles such as #182569 and still no joy. It
seems to me that ActiveX has been disabled on the computer for the internet
but I cannot find where.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi Tom,
First try clear the IE caches, delete offline files, cookies and then Click on
Privacy Tab and asign the website you want to view as Trust or Always Allow
(the same under security Tab) if you trust the website!.
Click on Programs Tab and click on Manage Add-Ons and see what ActiveX is
Disabled there, sometimes if you disabel some and renable them again that can
do the trick, there is another way but off my head now.
Did you check the Radio button on the Security Tab >> Custom level under the
Option;
[#] Run ActiveX Control and plug-ins
(*) Enable
and the reset settings underneth it set to Medium.
HTH.
Please let us know.
Regards,
nass
