Activesync to PPC2003 - deleting partnership issue

Not sure where to post this in the Technet Managed NewsGroups.

I had a WinXP machine with activesync "crash", preventing me from deleting
activesync settings to a PPC2003 handheld from the desktop.

I need to find a way to delete the activesync partnership from the PPC2003
somehow - without being forced to do a hard reset; I'd have too much to
rebuild on the handheld.

Suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!
