Active Desktop

Hi,

i am using windows xp. i cant use my active desktop
anymore. It is not possible to put a backgroundpicture or
any ohter photos on the desktop. they will not apear.

any idea?

for some reason on the left of my desktop the light-blue
folder-information-bar shows up and i can not remove it.

Right click in unoccupied desktop., Properties, Desktop page, click
Customise and on the Web page uncheck 'Lock . . .' then use this to Add
New items
